Ok, that’s not true. Venezuela is a beautiful country with uncomparable natural wealth (see my entry from last year on that). But what sucks big time is the service mentality. It was obvious in various places when I was travelling through the country last year, but yesterday I was only in transit in the airport for some hours and it already pissed me off. They acted as if they were in constant fight with me or other tourists, as if they had to defend themselves from whatever although I was friendly and cooperative all the time. The guys in uniform (it seems as soon as they wear one they believe themselves big ****s)  ordered me around as if I was guilty of some crime. Isn’t it much more fun to smile once in a while and be friendly? And wow, they were damn slow and ineffecient at migrations … I’ve rarely seen such a short queue need so much time.

So, if you want to travel through beautiful Venezuela, be sure to have a few friends there, that help you understand the life. Or travel with viventura.
